Here's a Cobra .380 pistol, gone asplodey on the range. Notice the texture of the crack: that's not steel. It's a zinc alloy.

One shouldn't trust such things to handle 21,000 psi with any real grace.

    These types of cheap firearms are designed more as a limited use safety device. They are sort of like a rubber life raft rather than an expensive hard bottomed boat. Use it in an emergency but don't depend on it for daily regular use.
